Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program
Certified by New York State, our comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury program provides treatment for people with brain injuries. Our 20-bed inpatient skilled-nursing program is designed specifically for the unique needs of people who have sustained brain injury. Through an interdisciplinary team approach, a highly-focused plan of care is developed for each individual. In every instance, the goal is to rehabilitate the individual in our care to the highest possible level of independence.
A Comprehensive Approach for a Complex Condition
The program offers a comprehensive clinical evaluation with a medical, physical, cognitive, speech/language and psychosocial focus. An individualized treatment program is designed by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation team in conjunction with support from the resident’s family. We believe the individuals in our care and their families are the most important members of the team, and encourage them all to help create and implement treatment approaches and goals
“I was in Brain Injury on the second floor. My experience at St. Camillus was second to none.”
Functional self-care and mobility living skills
Our goal is to help individuals reach their highest potential as quickly as possible, in as many areas as possible. Our therapeutic programs focus on improving each person’s ability to perform the most important daily activities needed to return home, such as:
- Self-care skills
- Home-based skills
- Community-based activities
